Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 21, 2026

1. Who we are

Disturbine (“we”, “us”) operates disturbine.com, a tool for tracking new Steam game releases and sending optional notifications to subscribers. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data — if you sign in with Google, Discord, or Steam, we receive your public profile identifier, display name, and (for Google/Discord) email address. We do not receive or store your password.
  • Subscription preferences — the genres, tags, and notification channels (Discord webhook URL, Telegram chat ID, or generic webhook) you configure.
  • Usage logs — standard server logs (IP address, user agent, request path, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days for abuse prevention and debugging.
  • Cookies — a session token cookie to keep you signed in. Third parties (see §5) may set their own cookies.
  • Feedback submissions — when you use the feedback form, we store the subject and body you wrote, the page you submitted from, your browser’s user-agent string, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP (used only to enforce rate limits — the original IP is never stored). The contact field is optional and only collected if you fill it in.

3. How we use your information

  • Authenticate you and maintain your session.
  • Match newly released Steam games against your filters and deliver notifications.
  • Operate, secure, and improve the service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Game metadata from Steam

Game titles, descriptions, genres, tags, images, and prices are sourced from Valve’s public Steam Web API and SteamSpy. This content is displayed for informational purposes and is owned by its respective publishers.

5. Third-party services and advertising

We use third-party services that may process your data independently:

  • Google AdSense — Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. For more information see Google’s Advertising policies.
  • OAuth providers — Google, Discord, and Steam handle authentication and process data under their own privacy policies.
  • Notification delivery — when you configure a Discord/Telegram/webhook destination, we transmit matched game information to that endpoint. Those platforms receive the payload and are governed by their own terms.

6. Data retention

We retain account data while your account is active. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. You can request deletion of your account and associated subscriptions at any time by contacting us.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email us at the address below.

8. Children

Disturbine is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page.

10. Contact
